Dinner Church combines conversation, worship, and a potluck. Led by our Outreach Team and Pastor Christian Ceconi. Please bring food to share and come early to help set up or stay afterwards to help clean up.

On Wednesday October 9, 2019 at 6:30 pm we welcome Sandra Van, GARDENS Advisory Council Co Chair, as our guest speaker. This Dinner Church has been rescheduled from October 2, 2019 so that residents of Etobicoke Lakeshore can attend an All Candidates Meeting at Royal York Road United Church (851 Royal York Rd) sponsored by Ecumenical Links Etobicoke. On Wednesday November 6, 2019 at 6:30 pm we welcome Karen MacPherson from the Wesley Mimico United Church Food Ministries as our guest speaker.
The Food Bank collects reusable bags to avoid plastic bags. (Our President Iris Schweiger is looking for a special donation of $500 to print the MLC logo on reusable bags for eco-friendly advertising).
At our Wednesday, June 5, 2019 for Dinner Church, we had a record of over 40 people. We listened to Emily Slotegraaf talk about Stonegate Ministry and Great Finds thrift store. She spoke about things relevant to the community, like poverty and loneliness. All are welcome to donate gently used items to the store at 2358 Lake Shore Blvd West. A donation bin is at the back of the building to drop off items on the weekends.

As announced in our Aug Sep 2019 MLC Newsletter, Dinner Church will benefit from a grant given by the ELCIC Women of Faith Fund. We look forward to developing this fellowship around food, especially with the help of Hannah Johnston who worked on Dinner Church as community coordinator at St. Lydia church in Brooklyn, New York.
