November<br \/>\num 19 Uhr<br \/>\nin der Martin Luther Kirche<br \/>\n2379 Lake Shore Boulevard West<br \/>\nToronto, Ontario M8V 1B7<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eintritt: Umsonst<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Narrator <strong>Gregorij von Le\u00eftis, <\/strong>Artistic Director of <em>Elysium &#8211; Between Two Continents, <\/em>recites texts reflecting the power of imagination and to the profound love and humanity of the artists who were imprisoned in the Theresienstadt concentration camp. They illuminate the unshakable hope that human decency will prevail and that humanity will be stronger than all the attempts to crush it. The repertoire includes texts by pianist <strong>Alice Herz-Sommer<\/strong>, poet <strong>Georg Kafka<\/strong>, playwright <strong>Paul Aron Sandfort<\/strong>, cabaret artist <strong>Leo Strauss<\/strong>, composer <strong>Viktor Ullmann<\/strong>, and poet <strong>Ilse Weber<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gregorij von Le\u00eftis<\/strong>, k\u00fcnstlerischer Direktor von <em>Elysium \u2013<\/em> <em>Between Two Continents<\/em>, rezitiert Texte, die die Kraft der Fantasie und die tiefe Liebe und Menschlichkeit von K\u00fcnstlern reflektieren, die im Konzentrationslager Theresienstadt inhaftiert waren. Sie illustrieren die unersch\u00fctterliche Hoffnung, dass der menschliche Anstand siegen wird und die Menschlichkeit st\u00e4rker ist als alle Versuche, sie zu zerst\u00f6ren. Das Repertoire umfasst Texte von <strong>Alice <\/strong><strong>Herz-Sommer<\/strong>, <strong>Georg Kafka<\/strong>, <strong>Paul Aron Sandfort<\/strong>, <strong>Leo Straus<\/strong>, <strong>Viktor Ullmann<\/strong> und <strong>Ilse Weber<\/strong>, und schafft einen entscheidenden Moment zum Verst\u00e4ndnis von Resilienz und spiritueller Widerstandskraft.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Lahr<\/strong> begleitet die Lesungen mit kontextuellen Kommentaren.<\/p>\n<p>Heute ist es wichtiger als je zuvor, diese Botschaft der Hoffnung und Positivit\u00e4t in die Welt hinauszutragen. Die\u00a0lebensbejahenden Worte dieser K\u00fcnstler k\u00f6nnen uns immer noch ermutigen, die Spirale von Hass, Gewalt und Zerst\u00f6rung zu durchbrechen.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8222;Von der Vergangenheit zu h\u00f6ren, weist uns den Weg in die Zukunft. Das gilt im Besonderen f\u00fcr unsere Gespr\u00e4che \u00fcber Vers\u00f6hnung. Es gibt keine Vers\u00f6hnung ohne die Wahrheit zu suchen und zu benennen. Die Holocaust Education Week ermutigt Menschen, die Wahrheit \u00fcber die Vergangenheit zu erz\u00e4hlen und zu lernen, um von daher die Kraft zu gewinnen, an einer vers\u00f6hnten Zukunft unserer Gesellschaft zu arbeiten.
