\"\"Die Jahreshauptversammlung (Annual General Meeting) \u2014zum Abschluss des Gesch\u00e4ftsjahres 2024\u2014 von unserer Martin-Luther-Kirche fand am Sonntag, den 23. Februar 2025 (im Kirchenuntergeschoss) im Anschluss an den zweisprachigen 11.00 Uhr Gottesdienst\u2014von Vikarin Alice Rothgordt geleitet\u2014 statt. Die 2024 Abschlussberichte lagen bereits zwei Wochen vor der Versammlung in deutscher und englischer Sprache aus.<\/p>\n

U.a. haben die anwesenden Gemeindemitglieder eine \u00c4nderung der Satzung des Missionsfonds \u2014der in eine Richtlinie mit aktualisiertem Text verwandelt wurde\u2014 um die Verfahren wodurch Gelder entnommen werden k\u00f6nnen (z. B. wenn sie bedingt durch aussergew\u00f6hnliche Umst\u00e4nde ben\u00f6tigt werden) genauer zu beschreiben. Obwohl die Amtszeit der Treuh\u00e4nder des Fonds (Sylvia Kunde und Trevor van Ingen) eigentlich auslaufen w\u00fcrden, haben beide sich dazu bereit erkl\u00e4rt in 2025 weiterhin im Amt zu bleiben, w\u00e4hrend wir geeignete Nachfolger suchen.<\/p>\n

Ferner wird in naher Zukunft eine weitere Gemeindeversammlung einberufen, um \u00fcber die neue Verfassung abzustimmen. Bitte achten Sie auf diesen noch bekanntzugebenden neuen Termin!<\/p>\n

Dan Sommerfeld enth\u00fcllte den Lagerraum der Kirche, der gerade noch rechtzeitig vor der Jahreshauptversammlung fertiggestellt wurde. Vielen Dank an ihn und Gisela Wilhelm f\u00fcr ihre fleissige Arbeit!<\/p>\n

Zwei neue Kirchenvorstandsmitglieder wurden von der Gemeinde gew\u00e4hlt – Sonja Schweiger und Emma Latham – womit sich die Gesamtzahl der Vorstandsmitglieder auf 11 erh\u00f6ht. Der Einf\u00fchrungsgottesdienst f\u00fcr den 2025 Kirchenvorstand wird am 23. M\u00e4rz 2025 stattfinden.<\/p>\n

Unsere Priorit\u00e4ten f\u00fcr die Jahre 2025-2026 sind wie folgt:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Support the Rental Committee in renting out our church spaces. For example, through updating rental agreements, appointing a Rental Coordinator, and a dedicated webpage on our website. Rental income is a valuable source of revenue for our Church, especially now with overall diminishing donations in PAR and regular Sunday worship, and our goal is to continue maximizing the use of our spaces (while still keeping in mind the mission and ministry, and traditional values of our church).<\/p>\n

2. Foster a welcoming culture for people of all ages and life stages. Offer worship services and events that are interactive, intercultural, and intergenerational, and which continue to meet the needs of our congregation. Empower volunteers to lead activities and groups that serve the community and neighbourhood by the 2026 AGM.<\/p>\n

3. Improve the visibility of our church to our surrounding neighbourhood. Budget and\/or fundraise for a new sign out front to better advertise our services and events to the community. Updated signage may help reach those without access to our website, social media, etc., and therefore may improve outreach initiatives and grow our congregation.<\/p>\n

4. Celebrate the history of our church. Create a committee to plan and execute a celebration for our 70th Anniversary on November 20, 2025, perhaps with a photo book and party. Purchase a large photo album to place the confirmation photos that previously hung on our basement walls (which were removed after the flood and are safely stored), and add any missing photos, to be ready by our 70th anniversary.<\/p>\n

5. Utilize the grants we receive effectively. Improve the accessibility and security of our church by a) updating the accessible washroom in the basement to meet current standards, b) repairing the automatic door at the front entrance), and c) installing two cameras for the backyard and front of the church.<\/p>\n

6. Research (and perhaps implement) ways to improve the areas in and around our Church and 5 Superior Ave to reduce the danger of flooding in the future.<\/p>\n
