  L3T 3V2\n\nOn January 1st\, 2017\, our name changed from Christ the King 
 - Dietrich Bonhoeffer Lutheran Church\, to Thornhill Lutheran Church. Our 
 old name was chosen in 1989 upon the merger of the Christ the King and Die
 trich Bonhoeffer congregations\, a merger which was completed in the matte
 r of months. Our old name was the longest in the ELCIC\, and it proved to 
 be somewhat difficult and ungainly. In 2016 we decided to simplify our nam
 e to reflect who we really are: Lutherans gathering in Thornhill. The focu
 s of our church life will continue to be Jesus Christ\, and we will contin
 ue to honour the legacy of the great theologian and martyr\, Dietrich Bonh
 oeffer.\n​\n\nWe are a bilingual German-English congregation in the Nort
 h of the Greater Toronto Area.
