DESCRIPTION:ASCENSION OF OUR LORD \n\nAscension Day\, 40 days after Easter 
 – Thursday\, the 21st of May this year – marks the event described by 
 Luke when the post-resurrection Jesus ascended. First Lutheran Church will
  hold two online events on Ascension Day: a German-language gathering at 1
 1 AM and Evening Prayer in English at 5:30 PM. Both events will be on ZOOM
 .\n\nThe German service at 11 AM will be an informal time to which all the
  German language Lutheran congregations in the GTA and the German Seniors'
  Club (“Seniorenverein”) will be invited. Pastor Katharina Moeller and
  Pastor Ralph Carl Wushke will share in the leadership and there will be l
 ots of time for informal visiting.\n\nThe Evening Prayer at 5:30 PM will b
 e promoted to our sister downtown congregations and feature some beautiful
  arrangements of the canticles associated with Ascension\, including the M
 agnificat and the Nunc Dimittis as well as Ascension day hymns.\n\nEmail F
