Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church recently completed an extensive renovation that included an upgrade of the church foyer. We welcome community events and small private parties, either on a one-time or recurring basis.
About the space:
• An open space that can be accessed via stairs or an elevator from the main entrance of the church at 2379 Lakeshore Blvd West.
• There is a streetcar stop on the same block and a variety of Green P parking options nearby.
• A new kitchenette with counter space, a 2 burner induction stovetop, mini fridge, 12-cup coffee maker, cups, glasses, dishes and cutlery for 25 people.
• Rectangular tables and chairs that seat 4 – 6 people for a maximum of 25 people.
• Coat rack.
• Large screen, wall mounted TV for streaming.
• Multi-person restrooms on the basement level are available after 6pm on weekdays and on weekends. The basement level restrooms are accessible by stairs and elevator and include a barrier-free restroom (We meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). We have a barrier-free environment for events to accommodate persons with disabilities).
Availability:
Monday – Friday: 9am – 3pm and after 6pm
Saturday: 5pm until 10pm
Sunday: from 1pm onwards until 10pm
Rental fees:
$25 per hour with a 3 hour minimum for one-time events.

FAQs
Do I need to sign anything to rent the space?
Yes, you will be required to sign a rental agreement and make a 50% deposit on signature of the agreement.
Which rentals are permitted?
We welcome community groups that meet on a regular basis and one-time family gatherings, birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, business meetings, holiday parties and more.
We do not permit the following events: political events, festivals, trade shows or marketing/shopping events open to the public, bachelor/bachelorette parties.
Are personal belongings and other items secure inside the rented foyer?
The foyer doors remain unlocked during the time of rental. We recommend that someone from your event remain in the foyer at all times during your rental period. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Can I bring alcohol?
Not currently. This may change in the future.
Can I light candles?
Only candles on birthday cakes/cupcakes are permitted. Please exercise utmost care when doing so and blow candles out immediately. Open flames should never be left unattended. Fireworks, firecrackers and sparklers are prohibited. Children’s birthday parties must be supervised by adults at all times.
Who can I contact for help on the day(s) I rent the space?
We will provide contact names and numbers in the rental agreement.
Can I come in the night before my rental to set up?
Access to the space is granted during the rental time only. Please take set up time into account when making your booking.
Are church staff/volunteers available to help me bring items in from my vehicle?
The foyer rental is for the space and amenities only. We do not provide church staff/volunteers to assist with set up and we do not have carts or trolleys available.
Can I get an extra table the day of the rental?
The foyer floor plan and number of tables and chairs is part of the rental agreement. We want your rental to be perfect. While we cannot guarantee additional items requested on the day of the rental, we will do our best to accommodate requests where possible. Your rental is considered confirmed when the online application has been completed.
Where can I put up my decorations?
Decorations can be put up on walls and cabinet fronts with easily removable adhesive or painter’s tape. Affixing signs or decorations to windows, light fixtures, fire sprinklers, ceiling is not permitted.
Food and Catering
This room is equipped to serve and cater food for any event. Please be respectful and remove any excess garbage and cardboard at the end of your rental with you. If you require additional garbage or cardboard removal, please inform us upon booking. There is direct access by vehicle to the front entrance doors. Catering vehicles must park in a designated parking spot. Carts to move items to and from the foyer are not available. Items must be carried up the stairs or use the elevator. Note the kitchenette does not have an oven, only a 2-burner stovetop.
All leftover food must be removed or disposed of at the end of the rental. Failure to leave a clean site after your rental will result in additional charges.
