Let the creating begin! … for our Spring Bazaar

Online Sale Dates: Wednesday April 27 – Friday May 6, 2022. Pickup day: Sunday May 8, 2022 at church.

It is time for our second MLC Spring Bazaar! Just in time for Mother’s Day, Sunday May 8th.
This is a call for clever creators willing to contribute their product offerings for the Spring Bazaar. I am looking for volunteers to bake, sew, carve, knit, weld, draw, paint or create something wonderful.

We had some clever offerings in last year’s Spring Bazaar that were a success: services, including cycling tours and coupons for freshly baked bread, so stretch your imagination and consider what you can do to contribute. Some more ideas may include: artwork, baked goods, jams/jellies/spreads, homemade breads/buns, gardening items, seedling starters, wooden crafts/decorations, beaded jewellery, gift certificates, the list is endless. I encourage you to think of things that are useful, environmental (using recycled materials, or items that may otherwise be discarded such as fabric scraps) and can be stored at the church for curbside pickup once purchased.

The sale will be live online for 10 days, and closes on Friday May 6, 2022 at midnight. Orders will be packed on Saturday May 7th and pickup day will be at the church on Sunday May 8, 2022 after the worship service on Mother’s Day.

Please respond by March 31, 2022 to confirm your participation–I don’t need photos at that time, just your commitment. Once you have confirmed participation I would need:

-What it is you can contribute
-The quantity of items you offer. I kindly ask you to consider making multiples of one thing, it lends itself to online selling. (eg. 6 jars of jam, or 5 dozen cookies, or 8 potted plants…for example).
-The recommended price the item should cost, and a detailed description of your item (a short paragraph extolling the virtues of your creation!)
-2 or 3 photos of the item individually, and from different angles, on a plain background.

I need the photos and description beginning the first week of April, and NO LATER than Saturday April 16th, as I need to edit, and update the website.

I also need 2-3 dedicated volunteers to assist me with the collection and distribution of the products for the bazaar on Saturday May 7, 2022. Please let me know if you have time and are interested in helping by responding to bazaar@martinluther.ca as soon as possible.
