Calling all Crafters, Bakers, and Makers for the 2026 Martin Luther Church Christmas Market!

It’s time to get making and baking for our annual Christmas Market on First Advent, Sunday November 29, 2026. Join us for a German-English worship service at 11:00 am, after which we welcome everyone to the Christmas Market from 12:30 – 2:30 pm. This will include a delicious BBQ lunch and traditional (non-alcoholic) German Glühwein for purchase, plus our Christmas Market Fundraiser for the church showcasing hand-made crafts, home baking, jams, and much more for sale. Start your Christmas shopping early and support a good cause!

We extend an invitation to participate and make this year’s event a success. We need Crafters, Bakers and Makers to contribute items for the Christmas Market, as well as volunteers for set-up, sales, and cleanup. We hope we can rely on your support! We are looking for a variety of handmade and homemade items! Some examples are below:
– Tasty baked treats (tarts, pies, cakes, cookies, gingerbread etc.) Very popular: any specialty GERMAN traditional Christmas baking!
– Handmade chocolates
– Homemade preserves (jams, jellies, pickles, sauces, etc.)
– Handmade crafts (examples may include artistic Christmas decorations)
– Jewellery (beading, necklaces, earrings)

– Hand knit goods (mittens, hats, scarves, socks, etc.)
– Wood working products (such as carved items, planter boxes, wood coasters, etc.)

  • The suggested price for your item, and the quantity you can offer. (*It would also be great to have a photo of your item, which will help us put together some advertising to get everyone excited for the Market this year.)

About the Christmas Market (formerly Christmas Bazaar)

The old tradition of hosting a Christmas Bazaar resumed in December 2022 (after the Covid-19 pandemic) and has been continued as an annual fundraiser. In 2026, the Christmas “Bazaar” was re-branded to Christmas “Market”. Our large basement offers the opportunity to showcase Advent and Christmas wares, lovingly made and donated by members and friends of the church, and everyone enjoys talking together over a hot lunch and festive treats.

Historically, funds raised have supported our outreach programs – including Bowls and Blessings outdoor food ministry, our community pantry, and refugee support partnerships.

The Martin Luther Church Christmas Market is run by volunteers who love to create for a cause.  This event offers the congregation and members of the neighbourhood community a chance to gather during the Christmas season.
