Wear Red on Pentecost!
This Sunday, May 24th, we celebrate Pentecost — the birthday of the church! On this day the Holy Spirit sent the disciples out into the world with courage and joy.
Red is the colour of fire and blood, of passion and life. On Pentecost, it recalls the tongues of flame that rested on each of the disciples (Acts 2:3) — a visible sign of the Spirit’s arrival, igniting a boundary-crossing message to the world. Across centuries of Christian tradition, red has become the liturgical colour of the Holy Spirit: vivid, urgent, alive. When we wear it together, we make our bodies part of God’s promise — we are a Spirit-filled, Spirit-sent people.
As a sign of the Spirit’s flame, we invite everyone to wear something red to worship. Whether it’s a scarf, a shirt, or a bright pair of socks — let’s fill the sanctuary with colour and be the gift that keeps the church alive and moving.
Come, Holy Spirit — come!

Spring is finally here, and we’re making another attempt to bring families from the GTA together. The children will decorate cupcakes, and we adults can chat over coffee and get to know each other.
