Since December 1, 2020 Martin Luther Church has been serving food etc, in front of the church doors to our neighbours. The days and hours vary depending on the availability of our volunteers, currently we aim for Tuesdays and Fridays at noon 12:00 to 1:00 pm.
There is also a clothing rack set up to provide a place to quickly give and take clothing.
The Food Pantry in front of the church continues to be open for the community. Please remember this food is not just for you, but for your neighbours too.
If you have the time to volunteer, please reach out to our co-ordinator Emma at email@example.com and check out (and like) our Bowls and Blessings Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bowlsandblessings
We would like to thank our soup makers and servers and those who otherwise supported us: Eastern Synod Mission Grant, Mimico Presbyterian Church, Mimico Baptist Church, Stonegate Ministry, Wesley Mimico United Church, Paris Bakery, The Portuguese Chicken House and finally, the many neighbors and friends who have donated generously.
Our outreach made the front page of a local newspaper. Link to article in The South Etobicoke News for January 2022: https://torontonewswire.com/january-2022/
The greedy bring ruin to their households, but the one who hates bribes will live.
Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
