Walk with us through Holy Week 2026!

Holy Week invites us into the most sacred journey of the Christian year — a path that moves us from the joy of Palm Sunday through the shadows of betrayal and death, into the light of resurrection. Each gathering this week is a station along that Way, and you are welcome at every one of them.
A common thread runs through it all: the sharing of food. From the Last Supper to the Easter breakfast, from our Bowls and Blessings ministry to the bread and cup of Holy Communion, we are a people who meet Christ and one another at the table. As you travel through the week, we also invite you to bring non-perishable food for our food pantry and Wesley Mimico United Church Food Bank — a tangible way to extend that table to our neighbours. Please note that our outdoor food ministry, Bowls and Blessings, will not take place on Good Friday. Instead, people can help themselves to soup left in the pantry.
If you feel called to help with hospitality — bringing food or drink, setting up, serving, or cleaning up — please reach out to Marlena Muller at office@martinluther.ca or Jocelyn Sommerfeld at president@martinluther.ca.
PALM SUNDAY — March 29, 2026
Jesus comes to Jerusalem and is greeted by crowds and palm – a king who comes not on a warhorse but a donkey. Join us for the German Radio Devotion at 9:30 am on AM 530 and our website, and the Bilingual Service at 11:00 am – with Church Choir and Installation of Church Council.

HOLY WEEK TUESDAY March 31, 2026
We gather mid-week to sustain the journey — through rhythm and community at the Drum Circle (11:00 am), through feeding our neighbours at Bowls and Blessings (12:00 pm) and through song as the choir prepares to carry the grief of Good Friday and the joy of Easter (Choir Practice 6:00 pm, contact Linda Marcinkus via the church office).
MAUNDY THURSDAY — April 2, 2026
At the heart of the week, we gather as Jesus gathered with his disciples. At 7:00 pm, Dinner Church circle draws us around a table for a reflection on the Last Supper with Pastor Annika Klappert. Here, as then, we break bread together and hear once more the commandment that defines us: love one another.

GOOD FRIDAY — April 3, 2026
We walk with Jesus to the cross. The English service with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 am, and the German service with Holy Communion at 11:00 am — both accompanied by the voices from the Church Choir. This is a day to reflect on the dark moments in our life, and how God chose to walk through them with us through his son.
EASTER SUNDAY — April 5, 2026
The tomb is empty. Death does not have the last word.
We greet the risen Christ at dawn with a Sunrise Service in English at 7:00 am at Marie Curtis Park – (see map for directions), led by Rev. Lawrence Nyarko, Pastor in training Cheri Butt and Pastor Annika Klappert. Then we celebrate together at the Easter Breakfast at 8:30 am back at the church. The German Radio Devotion airs at 9:30 am on AM 530 and our website. The morning culminates in a Bilingual Easter Morning Worship Service with our Church Choir at 11:00 am.
Come as you are: There is a place at the table for you. Walk with us!
