The Petroglyphs Provincial Park https://www.ontarioparks.com/park/petroglyphs is in Woodview, Ontario, a small town just northeast of Peterborough.

At the Learning Place Visitor Centre we will discover the traditions of the Ojibway (Nishnaabe) people. The park’s visitor centre was opened in 2002. It houses the largest known concentration of Indigenous rock carvings (petroglyphs) in Canada.  The carvings were created in the pre-Columbian era and represents aspects of First Nations spirituality, including images of shamans, animals, reptiles, and, possibly, the Great Spirit itself. It is a sacred site is known as “The Teaching Rocks”.
