Our Activities for Kids and Families

Whether you come to our church as a teenager, a kid or with the whole family, we want to celebrate, to pray, and share fellowship with you. Besides services, the Martin Luther Church provides many activities:

Sunday School

Every first and third Sunday of the month you will meet many children in the church. We begin together in the sanctuary. Later during the service, children gather in a classroom for stories, prayers, songs and activities. However, a brief “Children’s‘ time” with insprirational words is part of every Sunday Service!

Youth Group

Are you older than 13? Then you are invited to spend a “Weekend Night” at the church, to help with community suppers, go skiing or to have a video workshop at Camp Edgewood. These are only a few activities planned for the coming year. Come on over and enjoy some time with us!

Confirmation Class

Do you want to find out how faith feels and what the church looks like? Our confirmation class usually starts after the summer holidays. The course lasts one year and ends with the confirmation on Pentecost the following year. We especially invite teenagers entering grade 7 after the summer holidays or those who are between 12 and 14 years old (exceptions are possible after consultation). We meet once a month from Saturday afternoon to Sunday noon. At the beginning and end of every confirmation course is a three-day weekend retreat.

Summer Camp

Unforgettable memories guaranteed! Every summer, families and youth go to summer camp at Golden Lake (east of Algonquin Park). One week of canoeing, swimming, celebrating devotions, experiencing community and nature is on the agenda.

Church Picnic

Every June we have a Church picnic at Camp Edgewood (close to Eden Mills).
We offer: fun in the pool, activities and games for children, walks and soccer with all generations participating. In the outdoor chapel we celebrate an open-air worship service.

Christmas play

You are the one we have waited for! Every year we create a new nativity play. All are welcome to participate. From newborns to the Consul General, there have been many people involved in the past. Join in to spread the Christmas message and share your enthusiasm and unique talents.
