Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church 2005 Celebrating our 50th Year

Our people… in groups and circles… and the activities… they do!

“Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.” Psalm 127:1

Welcome to the photo directory of Martin Luther Lutheran Church!

We are proud to celebrate our 50th Anniversary and hope you will enjoy looking through these pages finding many familiar faces of our church family.

This book is a snap-shot of the life of our congregation which was founded by German immigrants in 1955. We have maintained the Lutheran tradition and become a community- oriented church of German and English speaking members. We know of course that it was God who built the house, which became a home for many people in all these years. We are thankful to have a beautiful place to worship and a strong community that helps us to grow in our faith.

May God continue to bless us and give us many more reasons to celebrate.
Your Pastor Stefan Wolf

Our Church

Our church was built in 1954 and was bought by the Martin Luther Congregation in 1962. The wooden beams and interior marked a milestone in the architecture of churches. Two additions have been added in 1982 and 1992 which provide addi- tional space for the meetings of groups and circles, as well as a Day Care program. The church has been equipped with an elevator to make it wheel- chair accessible. In 2004 the installation of 20 beautiful stained glass windows was completed. They bring the colours of the rainbow into the church. The windows show a large variety of Christian Symbols relating to the church year and biblical topics.
