CANCELLED – Dinner Church by the Lake – Maundy Thursday Apr 9, Wed May 6,
Last updated on December 8th, 2023
at 6:30 pm. Our monthly get-together – part potluck, part sermon, and part conversation – , is for anyone who is looking for a place to truly connect with other people and explore faith and spirituality. It’s basically doing what Jesus did: getting people together, eating food, and talking about good and life-giving things. Who doesn’t need that in their lives?!
Whoever you are, wherever you’re at, this is the place for you. You’ll be welcome, wanted, and accepted here.
This year we are shining a light on the Lakeshore by inviting local organizations to attend and share their experience of community and hardship in the area.
Led by our Dinner Church Team, the vicars, and often with guest speakers. Please bring food to share and come early to help set up or stay afterwards to help clean up.

Title: Being Neighbour: It’s called Dinner Church. Produced by Lutherans Toronto, August 29, 2019. 4.40 minutes. – “Martin Luther Church invites their neighbours to mid-week worship, built around conversation and a meal. For some it’s an alternative to Sunday worship and for some it’s a chance to braid the week together at church and enjoy a relaxed time in community.”
We are proud to announce that Dinner Church will benefit from a grant given by the ELCIC Women of Faith Fund. We look forward to developing this fellowship around food, especially with the help of Hannah Johnston who worked on Dinner Church as community coordinator at St. Lydia church in Brooklyn, New York.
