Confirmation 2021 successfully completed!
Last updated on November 1st, 2021
Confirmation 2021 was a success! After a year of online instruction on Zoom with Vicar Adam McComb, we confirmed our two dear adult confirmands in a hybrid Confirmation celebration service on October 3, 2021 in the afternoon. Michelle, her family and a few congregational members were in person, and Kristine was on Zoom. God bless the confirmands in their journey through life.
The Creator who forms you anew,
The Christ who sets you free
The Spirit who draws you one to another,
One God,
Bless you in your service to others,
Bless you in your rest and renewal,
Bless you today, tomorrow, and forever.
Amen.
… A Reflection by Michelle,
Kristine and Michelle are being confirmed and it is very exciting!
Knowing that we are sharing this journey together and with our dear friend Vicar Adam is the icing on the cake.
We are two women who wanted to make a change in our lives for the better. To build ourselves in the way of God’s path. However the building doesn’t stop or end here but will continue as we move forward in life.
As adults we can see this confirmation in a different light and from a different perspective. That gives us a diverse stance and enriches our journey.
All confirmands have a reason why they wish to be confirmed but, as adults we have a different appreciation for the church and its understanding of the reasons we wish to be confirmed.
Our goal is to have a stronger connection with God and to find a place where we can meet friends who also have that similar goal.
This church was appealing to us also for a reason. We found a place that wants to grow with the community that surrounds it and grow as mindsets expand throughout the years. The values and loving nature are the foundation of this church. And we can see proof in that by the way the church found its loving Pastor Annika Klappert. At this church we can be open about our journey without judgement. We can be ourselves and share our truths.
As we feel the enrichment of this journey we also feel the enrichment of friendships made. We thank God that we found one another to carry each other through the confirmation.
“A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.” Proverbs 27:9
A sweet friendship involves one you can completely be yourself with, one you can trust, one that will forgive without hesitation, one that will listen without judgment, one that will love without conditions and one that will offer up prayers to the Father on your behalf.
That is exactly what we found and we couldn’t have found better people to share our confirmation with.
