Church Picnic on Sunday June 25 for a Summer Kick Off

UPDATE: It was a beautiful day to enjoy a family worship service out in the open air at Amos Waites Park (2441 Lake Shore Blvd West) in Mimico-by-the-Lake. We gathered in a circle in the shade of a large tree, with our chairs and blankets, and sang to music by Linda Marcinkus (recorded by Alex Boettcher). Pastor Annika Klappert played her guitar as well. During the service, Pastor blessed our summer departees and birthday people; after which we brought out our packed lunches to eat while conversing with one another. A red velvet birthday cake even appeared for dessert!

The theme of our picnic worship was Abraham’s story. We thought about how faith challenges us to walk roads untraveled. We playfully explored the idea of what needs to go into our (spiritual) backpack and how God encourages us to go forward into uncharted territory. All the while we enjoyed the shade under the tree and the light breeze coming from the lake.

Summer is here! Welcome summer!
We hope to have an autumn outdoor service in this beautiful location as well. @lutheransbythelake

Please bring your own blanket/chair/tablecloth/dishes and picnic lunch.

We will meet on the grass under the trees. Parking is available there, or we will walk there as a group from the church starting at 10:45 am. It’s a 5 minute walk. You can also park on Superior Ave.
