Advent Celebration on 2nd Sunday of Advent December 10, 2023

UPDATE Advent is Full of Wonder! – This past Sunday December 10, 2023 we enjoyed a celebration of the Advent season with tables decorated by Pastor Annika Klappert and Annette Rowles, soup made by Iris Schweiger, sandwiches and dessert prepared by Ron Mayer, as well as coffee and tea served by Astrid Penno, Emma Latham, Tim Buechner, Pedro Gallegos, Andy and Alex Boettcher, and many more helping hands. Our organist Linda Marcinkus accompanied us on the piano while we sang carols. Alex Boettcher even sang Adeste Fideles (O Come, All Ye Faithful in Latin!). Tanya Zielke led an Advent quiz and Iris Schweiger recited a poem.

Philippe Koo Tze Mew shared his impressions:
“We had a lovely sing-along, including a quiz session, a poetry reading, following the service. It reminded me of the old days when my wife [Inge Koo Tze Mew] was still around and we were much younger. Time has passed, but the memories remain. Enjoy the Advent season.”

Dec 1, 2023 – All are welcome to enjoy our Advent Celebration on the second Sunday of Advent, December 10, 2023, following the German service at 11:00 am. There will be coffee, cake, and lots of singing! You are also invited to share a special story, poem, or song with everyone during the event.

We are still looking for a few more volunteers to help bring food, prepare the room (table set-up, decorating), make coffee and tea, serve, and clean up. If you are interested in helping out, please contact our church office at 416-251-8293 or office@martinluther.ca
