Downtown Toronto by Bus on Sunday November 17, 2024 for German-speaking Seniors

Original Post August 9, 2024: Whether you are new to Toronto, or just haven’t been downtown since COVID lockdown (or longer), wouldn’t you want to get (re)acquainted with the city in the comfort of a plush air-conditioned coach bus? Come experience a sightseeing tour with a veteran driver and a German-speaking tour guide who will whisk us (56 passengers) through the hustle and bustle of Canada’s largest metropolis.

This guided bus tour will be conducted in the German language and is aimed at German-speaking seniors across the GTA participants because the costs are subsidized by a grant from German Speaking Seniors Residence Moll Berczy House which is Toronto’s only Residence for German Speaking Seniors.

We will meet at Martin Luther Church, 2379 Lake Shore Blvd West in Etobicoke at 8:30 a.m. and tentatively return by 3:00pm.
The costs: $ 35/person* Room for 56 passengers.

To firmly reserve your seat(s), please remit your payment amount of $35 / person via INTERAC E-Transfer or PAYPAL to: treasurer@martinluther.ca. Please be sure to include a note indicating the number of persons, each persons names and contact information with your telephone number and/or e-mail address.

Participants should bring their own packed lunches and cash to tip for the bus driver (Coach Canada).

Itinerary: Old & New City Hall, the Eaton Centre, Yonge Street, Parliament building and University of Toronto campus, Royal Ontario Museum, Church of the Redeemer, Yorkville, Bay Street bisecting Toronto’s financial district, east past Moll Berczy Park, the Flat Iron Building and St. Lawrence Market, and the Distillery District.

On the return leg we will also drive by Harbourfront, Queen’s Quay, the landmark CN Tower, the massive Roger’s Centre Stadium (formerly known as SkyDome), the fashion and textile district, and Chinatown.

*Total actual cost is $67/person. Costs are subsidized by a Moll Berzy Haus grant for German-speaking seniors across GTA. Please advertise by word of mouth to GTA German-speaking seniors. Including churches (St. George’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Glebe Road United Church, St Patrick’s Catholic Church), the consulates of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, German Schools (German International School Toronto, Toronto German Language Schools), German Canadian Club Hansa (Hansa Haus), CHLO Radio Station German Program (Sundays 8 to 11:30 am), etc…..
