We invite everyone to Dinner Church at our Martin Luther Church (2379 Lake Shore Blvd W) on Wednesday, July 12 at 7:00 pm to meet Ashelyn Fung, our guest speaker about the GARDENS Lakeshore (https://www.gardenslakeshore.ca/) – our partners in helping maintain our community vegetable and pollinator gardens.
Speaker Bio: Ashleyn is currently the Project Manager for Humber College’s Centre for Social Innovation. Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, she has been volunteering in her community since she was 14. This has led her to work in social impact in both Toronto and Edmonton, across sectors and many thematic areas. In her current role at Humber College’s Centre for Social Innovation, her projects are primarily related to food security and affordable housing. She moved to Toronto in 2015 to attend grad school and be closer to her brother’s family so that she can be “the cool aunt”.
The map at the bottom shows our community gardens at 5 Superior in relation to our church and community pantry. Thanks to our partnership with the GARDENS, we have already been able to share radishes harvested from neighbouring gardens!
